“BALTIC AMBER KAUNAS 2026”

The International Dance Competition–Festival “BALTIC AMBER KAUNAS 2026” will take place on 17 October 2026 in the Great Hall of Vytautas Magnus University, located in the very centre of Kaunas.
Participants will perform in a professional concert venue with a large 12 × 10 m stage.
The festival welcomes children’s, youth and adult dance groups from Lithuania and abroad, offering an opportunity to present their creativity, compete, meet other dance groups and share the joy of dance in an international environment.
I. PARTICIPANTS Children’s, youth and adult dance groups and ensembles of various dance styles are invited to participate, including:
Contemporary / Modern Dance;
Folk and Stylised Folk Dance;
Street Dance / Hip-Hop;
Ballroom and DanceSport;
Line Dance;
Show Dance;
Jazz Dance;
Stage and Fashion Dance;
Character Dance;
other dance styles and combinations.
LIVE competition - a group must consist of at least 5 dancers.
II. AGE CATEGORIES
-KIDS MINI– 2–6 years;
-KIDS / JUNIOR – 7–10 years;
-TEENS – 11–15 years;
-YOUTH – 16–25 years;
-ADULTS – 26 years and older.
For mixed-age groups, the category is determined according to the age of the majority of dancers. Depending on the number and age of registered participants, the organisers reserve the right to combine or subdivide categories.
III. PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
1. Each group may present one or two dances.
2. Maximum duration of one performance – 5 minutes.
3. Choreography, music, costumes and stage presentation must be appropriate for the performers’ age and comply with general stage aesthetics.

5. We strongly recommend bringing a backup copy of the music on a USB drive.
6. Dancers must wear clean sports footwear or appropriate dance shoes suitable for the stage floor.
7. Props are permitted provided they can be placed and removed quickly and safely.
8. Fire, pyrotechnics, liquids, loose materials and other potentially dangerous materials are prohibited.
IV. JUDGING AND AWARDS
Performances will be evaluated by a professional international jury. Evaluation criteria include:
dance technique; choreography and concept; musicality; synchronisation and group unity; stage presence; costumes and aesthetic presentation; originality; overall artistic impression. In each category the jury will award: 1st PLACE, 2nd PLACE, 3rd PLACE. The jury will also select the GRAND PRIX, Special nominations and awards may be presented for outstanding choreography, originality, technique, stage image, artistic expression and other exceptional qualities.
Every participating dance group will receive a diploma/certificate and awards provided by the organisers.
V. LIVE COMPETITION
Registration Groups wishing to participate LIVE must complete the registration form by 12 October 2026

Participation Fee 1 dance – €15 per dancer, 2 dances – €22 per dancer*
The participation fee may be paid by bank transfer or upon arrival and registration at the festival. Bank payment information will be provided to registered groups.
VI. VIRTUAL / ONLINE COMPETITION Dance groups from Lithuania and other countries may also participate ONLINE
. A virtual competition group must consist of at least 3 dancers. Registration Deadline 13 October 2026

Video Submission Performance videos must be submitted by: 15 October 2026 to: terrastrum@gmail.com
Videos may be submitted via WeTransfer or as a YouTube link. The complete performance and all dancers must be clearly visible.
Virtual Participation Fee €10 per dancer for one dance.
Invoices are issued in advance. Payment must be made by bank transfer no later than 17 October 2026.
VII. COMPETITION PROGRAMME The detailed programme, performance order and registration times will be prepared after registration closes. The programme will be sent directly to registered groups. The organisers reserve the right to adjust the running order and programme where necessary for the smooth organisation of the event.
VIII. RESPONSIBILITY Group leaders, teachers, parents or accompanying adults are responsible for the health, safety and behaviour of underage participants during the event. The group representative is responsible for the accuracy of all information provided in the registration form. All participants must comply with the safety requirements and internal rules of the organisers and venue.
IX. PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEO Photography and filming may take place during the competition–festival. Photos and video recordings may be used for communication and promotional purposes related to “BALTIC AMBER KAUNAS”, Terra Astrum and future events. By submitting the registration form, the group confirms that it has been informed about photography and filming during the event.
