We invite you to Bratislava the capital of Slovakia, located between Vienna and Budapest. (To Budapest - about 140 km. to Vienna - about 60 km.). You will be surprised, as I was, how cozy and beautiful the city is, its old town, the Danube embankment with cafes and a well-kept park, and Bratislava's pride - the castle on the hill. In the center of Bratislava, everything is arranged quite compactly, so a day is definitely enough to explore the old town, climb up to the castle, cross the embankment and see Sky Park - an emerging modern district of concrete and glass high-rise buildings, as well as the Opera building and the well-kept embankment park with cafes. Stop by to taste local food, drinks, and enjoy Slovak culture. Places to visit: • First of all, the city welcomes the Grasalkovič Palace, where the President of Slovakia works, and a small landscaped park. • St. Michale's Gate is the only preserved city gate and one of the oldest buildings in the city, standing since about 1300 years ago. The city gate building is 51 meters and 7 floors and recently renovated. • The heart of the city is the Old Town Hall, built in 1370, which stands on the main square. From the tower of the old town hall, for just 3 euros, you will have a very beautiful view of the old town, the castle and further objects. In the main square you will also find the Maximilian fountain, which has been standing here since 1572, and about which there are various legends. • Archbishop's Palace and courtyard (Primate's Palace) – a palace standing right next to the old town hall, a neoclassical style pink building reminiscent of buildings in Vienna, because the architect of this palace is also from Austria. • Bratislava Castle (Bratislavy Hrad) – it is not for nothing that it is considered the pride of Bratislava, because when you come here you will find a huge panoramic square, landscaped spaces, gardens, a museum, a cafe. The castle itself has four towers at each corner and four gates to enter the castle courtyard. Enjoy the peace and panoramic view of the surroundings, St. Martin's Cathedral (St. Martin's Cathedral), the new bridge and the tower in the shape of a UFO flying saucer with a panoramic restaurant.
